Children: | We were blessed with 3 children.... Mike, Mark and Marcie. Mike, our first son, was born in October More…of '64. He has a son, Duke, who is an extremely intelligent and handsome 11 year old....also a dynamite LaCrosse player. Mark, our second son, was born in August of '66. He presented us with a daughter, Kathryn, who is beautiful inside and out.....the sweetest 9 year old you could ever want to meet. Marcie, our daughter, was born in August of '70. She's not yet done her daughterly duty and gifted us with a grandchild, but the day will come...of that I'm sure. In April of 2009, Mark died very suddenly and totally unexpectedly of a heart attack. Needless to say, his death has left a void that can never be filled. But....like it or not, life goes on and while, on occasion, tears are still shed, we can now smile and even laugh when we reminisce about the good times we have had and how blessed we all were to have Mark with us as long as we did. |

Yes
After graduation from high school, I attended Midwestern for a couple of years.....then decided to spread my wings and move to Dallas. I met my husband in Dallas....actually was introduced to him by Bobby Steward (a '60 WFSH alum). Bobby and Ed had become great friends while serving in the US Navy. Irving was our first home and after a brief time in Dallas, we moved back to Irving and lived there until about five years ago. We sold our home in Irving, and now live in Carrollton. In 1975, I decided to try my hand at selling homes and have actually thoroughly enjoyed my 35 years in real estate. I was with the Century 21 system for approximately 30 years and recently moved my license to Weichert Realtors in Coppell.....anybody wanna' buy or sell a home? Have car, will travel!
Oh golly, what good times we had! I played in the orchestra....it was a really good orchestra under the leadership of Dale Brubaker. We played in the Cotton Bowl in Dallas....one year with Mitch Miller and another year with Rogers and Hart. Those trips were exciting, but the most fun was had smoochin' in the back of the bus on the trip home.
And then there were the Thursday nights we spent dancin' at The Shack or La Chateau if you prefer.....every Thursday night like clockwork, my parents or Rosie League's parents would drop us off and pick us up....at least until we found ourselves "goin' with" somebody special. I loved those Thursday nights.
Loved the Pep Rallys too! It was easy to get "pumped up" when the cheerleaders would take the gymnasium floor....we rocked the walls with the racket. And how about those Coyotes!!! What a powerhouse team we had......all three years! Don't guess I'll ever forget the fight song or how terrific the marching band was when they took the field at half-time....good memories!!!

Jerry, I just saw your post about the loss of your son. I am so sorry you're having to deal with his loss. Our son, Mark, died almost 12 years ago very suddenly and there is nothing more painful. I'll definitely pray for healing and peace for you and your family. Rely on good memories, Jerry! They'll keep you sane!!
