Other than rearing my beautiful children, singing has always been a very important part of my life. I had always sung and directed church choirs throughout my adult years. At the age of 52, I wrote 10 songs and recorded them on an album. I wrote one of the songs, "God Bless the Heartland," for the victims of the Murrah Federal Building bombing in Oklahoma City in 1995. I won an Arts Award from Edmond, OK, for that song. In 1996 I had the priviledge of singing another of my original songs, "God's Promise," in a ShowCase just before the Dove Awards during Gospel Music Week in Nashville, TN. My husband and I continued then to minister in music by giving "mini-concerts" for the elderly at nursing homes, assisted living centers, retirement centers, senior citizen centers, and churches in Oklahoma and Texas. We have been ministering in this manner for the last 16 years. We are slowing a bit because an hour concert, as well as moving and setting up sound equipment, is getting a little hard on us! But we'll continue to sing for the Lord wherever He leads us for as long as He makes it possible for us to sing.
June, 2011 Well, God's not through with us yet! We are singing Patriotic Mini-Concerts for the elderly starting June 30th. We already have 5 concerts scheduled through July 15th. I guess we'd better find some Gerital to keep us going!!! lol It's good to be back singing full-time for the Lord!
July, 2014 I haven't updated in a while (3 yrs)! We live in Greenville, TX, now. We moved here about a year ago to help one of our sons with his little boy. We take care of Garrett while his dad, Lonn, and his big brother, Taylour, work. We also have our daughter, Cynthia, and her son, Scott, living with us until they can get a place of their own. Cynthia's health is not too good, and Scott will be going on to college before long; so they decided to get established close to family for Cynthia's sake.
We are still singing but not as often as we were. We've been singing for almost 20 years. We thought that we weren't going to be ministering in song anymore, but every time we stop, the Lord opens another door for us to go minister! So...I guess He's still not through with us!!!
November, 2016 Time to update! We haven't been able to singing anymore because my physical health has not been very good for the past year. The back surgery I had just before the 50th Reunion has started to take it's toll on me. My legs don't always work too good. I have had physical therapy as well as water therapy for my legs and back! Now I am getting the epidural steroid injections in my back to try to control the burning nerves in my legs. I have to keep a cane close at hand for balance at times. I don't see any difference yet! Oh well, that's getting old for ya!!! lol
Lynn and I didn't get to go to the 55th Reunion because I had planned for that weekend to go meet my newest great-granddaughter, Cheyenne Raye Hamilton, born October 10, 2016! I had to go that weekend to Sweetwater, TX, because my daughter, Cynthia, was taking me and couldn't be away from her church any other weekend since she works security for the church. So maybe we can make the 60th if there is one!!!
September 1, 2018 Update: We have sold our home in Greenville, and we have moved into the Alexis Estates Retirement Home in Allen. We decided we are finally old enough to live here!
February 28, 2019 Update: We have moved from the highrise at Alexis Estates in Allen to Overture 55+ Apartments in Fairview, TX. We found out that we were NOT old enough to live at Alexis Estates! lol
March 21, 2021 Update: On December 02,2020, I lost my loving husband of 26 years, 3 months, and 5 days! He had Parkinson's Disease. He started falling on July 10, 2020, and was never the same. The last fall was October 16, 2020, and he died 47 days later. He is greatly missed!
February 17, 2022 Update: Just a note to let everyone know that I live in a house in Lewisville, TX, now. My daughter and I leased a house together. She is only here about every other week. If any of you are out this way, come see me!
January 27, 2023 Update: I'm turning "80" next Tuesday!! How about the rest of you classmates? Is old age catching up to you yet?!!
I loved Pep-Rallies, Accapella Choir with Tommy Shaw, being a Gym Leader, and all of the extra-curricular activities we had at WFSH! I did the studying because I had to in order to keep enjoying the parts of school that I loved! I also loved to go to the Le' Chateau on Thursday nights. I loved to dance and socialize.
It was so good to see so many of our classmates at our 50th reunion!!!

Happy Birthday, Robbie! Love ya, Rose Marie
Joe was a very sweet person through all the years I had known him. Although I hadn't seen him for a number of years between our graduation of high school and our 25th Class Reunion, I felt honored that he remembered me well enough to mentioned me (even if it was about the swing in my back yard) in his poem he wrote for our 25th reunion. He loved to have fun and make others feel special. Joe had many, many friends who loved him dearly! I will always remember him with great fondness.
