Regrettably, I could not attend the Class of 1961 Reunion in 2011. I did attend several previous reunions and was enlightened by attending them. I would love to hear from you.

Terry, do you also happen to have a 1960 WFSH site? Thanx.

Happy Natal Anniversary, Mike. You and I both have daughters named Angela, and we may not be the only ones. Have a good one.

Bill Hauptman, thanks for your post of 7/22 re. where we actually were during the moon landing. I enjoyed your thoughts. Yes, Harrison Schmitt was a very interesting person. Former astronaut on the Apollo program. Former US Senator from NM. Last man to walk on the moon. Well, maybe not. Lots of stuff written about this, including Gene Cernan's autobiography, "The Last Man on the Moon." Apparently, you are correct... Schmitt was the last Apollo astronaut to set foot on the moon. But Cernan has the distinction of not only being the first from Apollo 17 to set foot thereon, but also the most recent astronaut to have set foot on the moon. Schmitt apparently went back into the lunar module first but Cernan second (last). So both astronauts have some sort of distinction of being last. It is exciting to meet people we admire. Back in the 90s I was living near Pebble Beach where Alan Shepard was living before his death. He was kind enough to autograph and inscribe two copies of his book, Moon Shot. By the way, I still have your book, The Storm Season. Uninscribed. Maybe I'll see you in Austin.

Hello, everyone,

It’s always a bit disturbing to lose another classmate.

Regardless of the circumstances, we often reflect on our own mortality at times like these.

A few months ago I had an opportunity to go vegan, something I have wanted to do since I was a child.

I’m finishing up a transition phase and becoming a happy and more healthy person.  And I’m eating better than I ever have.

Now, I’m wondering how many of you have already discovered the joy of a plant-based diet.

Or maybe some of you are partly there, or you’re just interested.

I’d love to hear from you.

Wishing the best to the family of James Downing.
